Love this club!  Its designer went right to the edge, and with style.

This sleek, circa 1920s putter combines a futuristic shape with a clever play on words.

The striking portion of the clubhead is cylindrical in cross-section, but the toe tapers down to a point, forming a cone. The heel also tapers as it transitions into the neck.

The top of the round blade is marked “Jakwyte \ One-O-One | Made In England.” The term Jakwyte is a play on the name of Jack White, the 1904 British Open champion who was a popular and prominent British professional at Sunningdale from 1901 to 1926.

The chances arc good, however, that White did not have anything to do with this club, and that the unique spelling was used to imply an endorsement. Only the higher risk of litigation in today’s world keeps a “Tygrwudz putter” from appearing on the market.

The original 34 ½” shaft in this putter has a nice St. Andrews bend and original leather wrap grip. Also unique to this club is it has a 1 5/8” wood ferrule which encloses the base of the shaft where it sockets into the head. It is the innovative creativity not so much the performance of the club that goes a long way to making a great collectable.
