MacGregor circa early 1930s Duralite ladies set with heads encased in black Mac-oid. Driver, brassy, and spoon. The clubs show no use. Driver grip is marked “length. 41in, wt. 12 oz.” Shafts are Mac-oid coated steel shafts marked “Trademark Mac-Oid Pat’s Pending” right below the grip. Grips are color coded white, red, and green at the base and at the grip cap. The lettering appears original on all the heads.
The white faces and colored dowels are also made from Mac-oid, which MacGregor's 1931 catalog simply described as a proprietary material the company developed. And it all looks unused. The clubheads have possibly been sprayed with a clear finish coat. Soles are also stamped with club and patent information.
This set is highly attractive with strong vibrant colors up and down these clubs.
