Offered here is a 1999 Scotty Cameron Tour Newport II with welded long neck in black oxide finish made for former tour player Jay Don Blake. Coveted S. Cameron stamping on the face.

Vog says: From the "deep South" collection, this is an understated cool tour putter with an old school letter of authenticity from Scotty's original studio, pre-dating the current authentication process by several years. What makes this cool? First, it's a Tiger head-has the same waterfall to the shoulders. That's where the similarity ends. Notice the cavity-zoom in on that picture. Scotty removed some weight by milling the cavity ever so slightly deeper. And look at the topline-look at the minimal amount of metal between the top of the cavity and the topline. Over the years I've seen Scotty do this-reshaping the topline-to create a low slung look to the topline. Except on a Newport or Newport II, you can verify this by looking at the little "swoop" in the topline at the base of the neck-it will look shallow from the metal removed. This putter does not have that look. A second inspection of the cavity tells me Scotty milled the cavity a little larger at the top-removing some of that metal between the cavity and topline-to remove even more weight. We're really talking about a gram or two of weight, and speaks to Scotty's craftsmanship and dedication to getting the putter right. I was lucky enough to see Scotty do exactly this-milling the cavity deeper by hand to remove weight, with his digital scale nearby to weigh the head.

Finally, the S. Cameron stamping. A lot has been written and said about the stamping. Does it always mean a putter has been tweaked by hand by Scotty? Or is it a putter Scotty ran out of space (or time) to stamp Scotty? With the welded neck and the milled cavity, I think this is a TRUE S. Cameron.

35" for Jay Don Blake, welded slantneck, milled cavity, Art of Putting black cover. Will include the original letter of authenticity personally signed by Scotty.
