In 1903 and 1905, James R. Brown received two British Patents that covered his Major rake iron. The Major included decorative filigree over the entire face, and it remains in nice shape on this club.
The 37” shaft appears original. The leather wrap grip is also original. The head is clean and retains its original dark patina. No makers mark on the head.
Brown's iconic design is no longer used to play shots from sand, water, and high grass, but it will never cease to turn heads!
