Bobby Jones Signed Law Firm Letter
Bobby Jones shocked the world when he retired from golf at only 28 years old.
But instead of focusing on the prime years of his career that we no doubt
missed, we celebrate his legacy as one of the greatest golfer to ever play the
game. When Bobby Jones, the great amateur, retired from his amateur golf
career, he practiced law in Atlanta - a profession he considered more noble.
Presented here is not only a signed Bobby Jones letter, but a letter on Bobby
Jones' personal law firm letterhead. This letter is simply spectacular -
it contains his law firm name (Jones, Williams & Dorsey), his name with the
firm's list of attorneys on the top left, his initials on the bottom left of the
letter and, of course, his personal signature block. For those unfamiliar
with the use of the "RTJ-j" notation on the bottom left, this customarily
denotes the person who actually typed the letter. Therefore, in all
likelihood, Bobby Jones bypassed the need for a secretary for this letter, and
typed it himself. There are many autographs of Bobby Jones that were
obtained by his fans. But this item is an actual item from Bobby Jones
himself during his impressive post-golf career.
