1920 U.S. Amateur Contestant's Badge

The 1920 US Amateur Championship was played at Engineers Country Club in Roslyn, NY and the field was loaded with stars-Bobby Jones, Francis Ouimet, Chick Evans, Tommy Armour, and Jess Sweetser, to name a few. Evans would win his second Amateur title, besting Ouimet in the finals. This badge was owned and worn by a great Philadelphia area player named J. Woos "Woody" Platt and he made it all the way to the quarter-finals. This badge is a beautiful example with gorgeous enamels and is the oldest US Amateur badge we've ever handled.
