Circa 1900 Hauber & Reuther Stein
This is a circa 1900 Hauber & Reuther stein. This German stein measures 6.5" tall, and is similar to the one depicted in the book Decorative Golf Collectibles, page 16. The handle has a hole through the top where a lid would've been attached but there is no sign (such as rubbing) to indicate it ever had a lid. The inside of the stein is crazed and there are what appear to be two very thin hairlines, but they do not go all the was through to the outside. Hauber & Reuther was a small beer stein factory established outside of Munich in 1876 and operated until 1910. The stein is marked .72 (liters).
