Silvercrest Bronze Cigarette Box with Matchbox Holder and Ashtrays Inside
Very unusual circa 1920s Silver Crest cigarette box. 4 ½” W, 3 ¾” D, 2” H. The underside of the lid has compartments for cigarettes and a matchbox, with a side opening for the striker side of the matchbox. Inside are three ‘nesting’ ashtrays that are removable. Marked ‘Silver Crest Decorated Bronze’ on the bottom. This is the only Silver Crest cigarette box like this that the consignor has ever seen in 20+ years of collecting. No damage, but this piece has clearly been used and enjoyed over the years. The Silver Crest trademark was used by Smith Metal Arts Co. in the 1920s.
