A "set" of the 6 models made of the Seely Patent for forked hosels. This patented head design replaces a conventional "hosel" with two straps to secure the shaft to the head. Charles Seely was granted the patent in 1912, which describes this forked hosel as consisting of "steel tangs." (The Clubmaker's Art (2nd Ed.) by Jeffery B. Ellis, p 183). A.G. Spalding & Bros. produced "Seely Patent" irons in limited quantities from 1912 to 1919 (and the jigger and mashie only from 1916-1919).
