Circa 1940 oil painting of National Golf Links of America by John Floyd Yewell (1885-1963). The painting depicts the 17th tee box and NGLA's iconic clubhouse. This extraordinary painting was commissioned from Yewell in 1940 for prominent NGLA member Walter Kidde. Yewell's paintings from the early half of the 20th century have hung in such lofty places as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the National Gallery.
