Presented here is the actual Winner's Gold Medal from the 1936 US Open at Baltusrol Golf Club. The tournament was won by Tony Manero in one of the more controversial conclusions to a Major Championship. Tony Manero's friend Gene Sarazen requested to be paired with Manero for the final round in order to help calm down the anxiety prone Manero. Rumors began to swirl that Sarazen was actual providing Manero with advice throughout the round, which would be a serious violation of the rules. A complaint was made to the USGA, but without any evidence of the wrongdoing, Manero was allowed to keep the title.

Included with this 1936 US Open gold medal, is Manero's contestant's badge from the 1936 US Open, as well as an original program from the tournament.
