The legendary Jack Wullkotte famously made Jack Nicklaus' golf clubs for the bulk of Nicklaus' career. Wullkotte also worked with a litany of other professional golfers, but it was his work with Nicklaus which earned him the nickname "The Jack of Clubs."
Offered here is the actual vise/boring machine from Wullkotte's shop that was used to make Jack Nicklaus' woods from 1975 through the late 1980s. In Wullkotte's letter accompanying this historic piece, he states that this device "allowed me to bore heads to the custom specifications of Jack Nicklaus." Wullkotte then states that he used this device from 1975 through the late 1980s, "when metal woods caused the demise of wood woods."
