World Golf Hall of Fame Collection
We have partnered with the World Golf Hall of Fame to bring our clients some important treasures from its collection. Next year the World Golf Hall of Fame migrates to a smaller footprint in Pinehurst, NC after 25 years at its Florida location. This presented a perfect opportunity to share some relics not making the trip to our network of golf collectors around the globe.
Phil Mickelson's PGA Tour Win #1 (as Amateur) Scorecards from 1991 Northern Telecom Open
At the 1991 Northern Telecom Open in Tucson, Arizona, a 20 year old Junior at Arizona State won a PGA Tour event despite still being an amateur. That golfer was, of course, Phil Mickelson, who would go on to win 43 more PGA Tour events after turning professional. 22 years later, Mickelson still remains the last amateur to win a PGA Tour event.
Offered here are the actual scorecards from all 4 rounds of Phil Mickelson's historic victory #1 on the PGA Tour. Phil Mickelson famously nearly blew his first chance at PGA Tour glory when he recorded a triple bogey 8 on the 14th hole during the final round. Despite that setback, Mickelson birdied 2 of the final 3 holes to shock the golfing world and capture his first PGA Tour win. The 1st place check was $180,000, which Mickelson could not accept as an amateur.
These historic Phil Mickelson victory scorecards are being consigned today directly from the World Golf Hall of Fame's collection. This represents a rare chance to own the actual scorecards from Phil Mickelson's 1st PGA Tour win.
