1926 US Open Contestants Pin (Bobby Jones)

Perhaps the greatest golfer to ever live, Bobby Jones won 13 Major Championships before retiring at the age of 28. In 1926, the yet-to-be legendary Bobby Jones won his 4th Major Championship - the 1926 U.S. Open at Scioto Country Club. Presented here is an actual contestant's badge from the 1926 U.S. Open. Memorabilia from Bobby Jones' major championship victories are very rare and routinely sell for thousands of dollars. Less than 200 of these contestant's badges existed in 1926; how many are still around? Surely only a handful. Even more spectacularly, this contestant's badge still contains the original celluloid tag which represents the player that it was assigned to. We don't know which player that was, but we know it was issued to one of the men who fruitlessly attempted to stop Bobby Jones in winning yet his 4th Major Championship.
