Offered here are three circa 1905 Vaile & Ayres patent swan neck golf clubs. Included are a driver, an iron, and a putter - each with the unusual swan neck hosels. According to Jeff Ellis, "of this trio of 'swan neck clubs' the putter is most commonly found, the iron less so, and the driver is rarely seen." All three of the clubs are in very good condition. 

These clubs originate from the famed Jeff Ellis Collection, and these exact clubs were featured in his books The Clubmaker's Art (TCA 1, p. 177; TCA 2, p. 205). These clubs have not reached the collector market since their sale at the 2007 Sotheby's auction of the Jeff Ellis Collection.
