Next year the World Golf Hall of Fame migrates to a smaller footprint in Pinehurst, NC after 25 years at its Florida location. Offered here is the original oil painting by celebrated artist Bernie Fuchs (1932-2009) depicting Jack Nicklaus at the 1986 Masters. If this painting looks familiar, that is because it has been reproduced many times over the years in limited edition prints and the like. Offered in this auction is the original oil painting upon which those popular prints are based.
Titled The Sixth Green Jacket - Jack Nicklaus, 1986. Painted by Bernie Fuchs after 46 year old Jack Nicklaus shocked the golfing world by capturing a record 6th Masters Tournament victory.
This rare original painting is being consigned today directly from the World Golf Hall of Fame's collection. This represents a rare chance to own perhaps the most famous painting celebrating Jack Nicklaus' historic 1986 Masters triumph.
Oil painting on canvas. Framed to an overall 34 3/4" x 42 3/4, with the visible inside image measuring 27 1/2" x 35 1/2".
