This circa 1840s heavy iron, or bunker iron as these club were sometimes called, is from the World Golf Hall of Fame collection, and it is loaded with personality! The significantly large hosel that measures 5 1/4" in length; the large, dished face, curved from top to bottom; and the long hammer weld running down the rear length of the hosel are all major features, but what is even more unusual about this club is the middle third of the blade is slightly raised above the heel and toe! Somebody back in the day had to want this club to be this way. Simply cleaning the head with emory cloth as was the custom would have worn the face evenly. Again, this face is not even, but its middle third is slightly raised by design.

The 39 1/2" original shaft has evidence of a crack but it appears to be repaired. The crack will not torque open. Original coated sheepskin grip.
