"Ah....you don't see one of these every day."

Those were the words of Bill "Vog" Vogeney, our resident Scotty Cameron guy, when he saw this driver he unearthed from a massive collection of classic and antique clubs in our warehouse. You don't see these every day; in fact we've NEVER seen one before. Offered here is a pre-WWII era MacGregor Byron Nelson Oil Hardened "DFD" driver (stands for deep faced driver).

Before the war MacGregor offered two MASSIVE deep faced drivers, the BJM and BJD. They were a full 2" inches deep in the face and were very heavy-made only for the strongest of players. Between 1941 and the late 1950's, MacGregor also made a small number of deep faced drivers marked "LFF" (let the fu%&er fly) with even fewer custom made drivers marked DFD. As Vog told us "deep faced, all-original MacGregor drivers like this are HOT!" Examples with Byron Nelson's name or any other touring pro of the era are incredibly difficult to find and now after 70 years of use, abuse, garage sales, rock hard range balls, and garbage bins, a driver like this may truly be a one-of-a-kind.
